A Full Continuum of Addiction Treatment
At ETRS Pontiac Advisors, we offer a complete range of addiction treatment programs. Each level of care builds on the one before it, giving you steady support from the first day of detox through long-term aftercare. Our treatment team creates a plan that fits your needs, not a one-size-fits-all approach.
Recovery is not a straight line. Some people need the safety of round-the-clock medical care during withdrawal. Others benefit most from structured outpatient sessions that let them stay close to family and work. We meet you where you are and guide you toward lasting sobriety, one step at a time.

Medical Detoxification Program
What Is Medical Detox?
Medical detox is the first step toward recovery. It is the process of safely clearing drugs or alcohol from your body while medical professionals manage withdrawal symptoms. Withdrawal can range from mildly uncomfortable to life-threatening depending on the substance, how long you used it, and your overall health. That is why trying to quit on your own can be dangerous. Our board-certified medical staff is on-site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to monitor your vitals, administer FDA-approved medications, and keep you as comfortable as possible.
Program Duration: 3 to 7 days, based on your individual needs and substance history.

The Detox Process
Assessment
When you arrive at our facility, our medical team performs a thorough evaluation. We review your substance use history, physical health, mental health, and any medications you take. This assessment helps us create a detox plan that matches your exact situation.
Stabilization
During stabilization, our clinical staff monitors you around the clock. We use evidence-based medications to manage withdrawal symptoms such as nausea, anxiety, tremors, and cravings. Our nurses check your vitals regularly to make sure your body is responding well.
Transition to Treatment
Once your body is stable and withdrawal symptoms have eased, your care team works with you to plan the next step. Most patients move directly into our residential or outpatient program so they can begin the therapeutic work of long-term recovery.
24/7 Medical Supervision — Our licensed medical professionals are on-site day and night. You are never alone during detox at ETRS Pontiac Advisors. Call (231) 201-3929 to begin your safe detox today.
Residential Treatment Program
What Is Residential Treatment?
Residential treatment, also called inpatient rehab, means you live at our facility full-time while you focus on recovery. At ETRS Pontiac Advisors, our residential program removes you from the people, places, and triggers connected to your substance use. This gives your mind and body the space they need to heal.
Every day is structured with purpose. You take part in individual counseling, group therapy, family sessions, and holistic activities. Our therapists use proven methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and 12-step facilitation to help you build the skills you need for a sober life.
Program Length Options
- 30-Day Program: A strong foundation for people with shorter substance use histories or strong support systems at home.
- 60-Day Program: More time to work through deeper issues, practice new coping skills, and strengthen your recovery foundation.
- 90-Day Program: The gold standard recommended by the National Institute on Drug Abuse. Longer stays lead to better long-term outcomes.

Outpatient Treatment Programs
Flexible Treatment That Fits Your Life
Not everyone can step away from daily responsibilities for 30 or more days. Our outpatient programs at ETRS Pontiac Advisors give you the same evidence-based therapies used in residential care, with a schedule that lets you keep working, caring for your family, or attending school in Pontiac, Michigan.
Outpatient treatment works well as a step-down from residential care or as a primary treatment option for people with mild to moderate substance use disorders. Your therapist adjusts the intensity of your program as you grow stronger in your recovery.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
PHP is the most intensive outpatient option. You attend treatment at our facility 5 to 6 days per week for 5 to 6 hours each day. Sessions include individual counseling, group therapy, psychiatric evaluations, and skill-building workshops. PHP typically lasts 2 to 4 weeks and serves as a bridge between residential treatment and less intensive outpatient care.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
IOP meets 3 to 5 days per week for 3 hours per session. You receive structured group therapy, individual counseling, and relapse prevention training. IOP runs for 8 to 12 weeks and allows you to return home each evening. Many of our patients attend IOP while working or going to school.
Standard Outpatient
Standard outpatient care involves 1 to 2 therapy sessions per week. It is designed for people who have completed a higher level of care and need ongoing support as they build a life in recovery. Sessions focus on maintaining sobriety, developing healthy relationships, and preventing relapse.
Step-Down Care: A Gradual Return to Independence
Step-down care means moving from a higher level of treatment to a lower one as you get stronger. For example, you might complete residential treatment and then transition to PHP for two weeks, followed by IOP for two months, and finally standard outpatient sessions. This gradual approach reduces the risk of relapse because you never lose support all at once. At ETRS Pontiac Advisors, your care team manages every transition so the handoff feels smooth and natural.
PHP
5-6 days per week, 5-6 hours per day for 2-4 weeks. The highest level of outpatient structure.
IOP
3-5 days per week, 3 hours per session for 8-12 weeks. Balanced treatment and daily life.
Standard OP
1-2 sessions per week for ongoing maintenance, relapse prevention, and accountability.
Dual Diagnosis Treatment
What Is Dual Diagnosis?
Dual diagnosis means a person has both a substance use disorder and a mental health condition at the same time. This is far more common than most people realize. Research from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) shows that nearly half of people who struggle with addiction also have a co-occurring mental health disorder.
At ETRS Pontiac Advisors, we treat both conditions together. Treating only the addiction while ignoring the mental health issue, or the other way around, almost always leads to relapse. Our integrated approach addresses the root causes of both problems so you can achieve real, lasting recovery.
Co-Occurring Conditions We Treat
- Major Depression — Persistent sadness, hopelessness, and loss of interest that often drives substance use as self-medication.
- Generalized Anxiety Disorder — Chronic worry and tension that can fuel reliance on alcohol or sedatives.
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) — Flashbacks, nightmares, and hypervigilance caused by past trauma.
- Bipolar Disorder — Extreme mood swings between manic highs and depressive lows.
- Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) — Intrusive thoughts and repetitive behaviors that interfere with daily life.
- Personality Disorders — Deep-rooted patterns of thinking and behavior that affect relationships and self-image.
Our Integrated Approach
Our dual diagnosis program combines psychiatric care with addiction treatment. A licensed psychiatrist oversees medication management, while our therapists use trauma-informed modalities like CBT, DBT, and EMDR. Group therapy connects you with peers who understand both sides of the struggle. Family therapy helps your loved ones learn how to support you. Every part of your care plan is coordinated so nothing falls through the cracks.
Not Sure Which Program Is Right for You?
That is completely okay. Our admissions team will listen to your situation, answer your questions, and help you find the level of care that gives you the best chance at lasting recovery. The call is free and confidential.
